If you are on the Underground sometimes you can be oblivious to parts of your environment.
Tube travel can be noisy. Because the lines often follow the path of above ground roads (to avoid costly land purchase and liabilities during construction) the tracks can curve. The changing speeds and obvious need to stop at stations means the train’s wheels can sometimes make a high-pitched screeching sound.
It was only once witnessing on one journey a child covering her ears to deafen the noise that made the author conscious of the noise on his journey.
For your Tubespiration!:
- What noises are there in your environment?
- What side effects are there in the things you are doing?
- What noises are you blocking out?
- What is that children can realise that you may be oblivious to?
